This is the second race as part of the 5 week FM training program. As usual, i get that butterfly in the stomach before a race.
The trail takes you through the woods on a cycling path, although it isn’t 100% flat. You will run pass a mini meer (lake, but man made) which was rather nice. There are some top runners in this race with the women #1 clocking in 40:39, Monique Fibbe. Coincidentally, this was the lady whom i bought the Enschede FM bib number from.
Reflection
In every race, it’s important to have an expectation, but a realistic one. I try to race for PB coming into every race. I came to this race reluctantly as i was not confident that i am able to achieve a PB, given the weeks of training for Rotterdam, and not feeling my best. I was 3 seconds short of a PB, but i must say, rather satisfied that it was nothing slower than that, given this number is still 1 second faster than the previous race at Ganzeloop, along a route that was not entirely flat.
