10km holland Race

23 March 2019, Saturday, 10 km OVM Gaanzeloop Gelselaar

#roadrorotterdam

The race…

This was Z4 training planned. I was able to pick up speed in the first 2km running at a pace of 4.37. I liked the number on my watch but wasn’t able to sustain it until the end. Yet, i am pleased with the average speed (4.41) given the condition i was in (sustained left quadriceps muscle sore for 2 weeks now – and stopped training for 2 days prior to this race). There were ~15% hard sands and grass combined on the entire route.

My PB for 10km remained as 46.55. I clocked in 46.58 in this one, but i am hoping with the long run trainings for FM, i will soon be able to achieve the 45.00 mark.

The place...

This is a small communal event. The race start was easy to get to. And the route probably circled the town of Gelselaar. This town has about 700 inhabitants, and known for his age old monuments.

Zoek de Haas, my personal pacer. He is amazing! All these training and body adaptation made possible only with his support!
