This race was more about the journey to the race than the actual race itself. The actual race start is at Pak Chong, which is deep towards the national reserves park, but there is not a public transport connection into the area. We were blessed to meet with some helpful Thais who speak English and was kind enough to offer us a ride to and from the accommodation, Lucerne and race start. It made all the difference in this race.
The trail measured a distance of 21.5km and elevation gain of 234m. After an 18km climb at Vang Vieng the week before, this track was welcomed. Although, the view was less dramatic.
