10km Reflection road running

18 August 2018, Saturday, 10km, RunnersWorldloop Apeldoorn, AND some (Reflection) time, a month later…

When my spirit is low, i have this weblog to turn to :), to remind me of the pledges i have made.

Haha… no, seriously.

I have been running almost every day since returning from Holland, but with very little structure, that i have no gauge as to whether any of these mileages ran will result in an improved performance. The doubt, wears me down (sometimes), especially, when i wake this morning feeling more tired than yesterday, despite all the sleeping hours clocked in. (bahh…)

A chat with Gertjan yesterday evening helped mend the spirit. When i chicken out on trainings, his firm words on what i have promised, help me zero in and stay focus.

And this particular race is a reminder that every seconds of improvement IS an improvement, and even ever so little of a second of improvement, it is a second closer to the 45min target. #feelingpositive  #keepgoing

So, a PB of 4.41 m/km (10km) in the pocket to savor (for a moment).

my TRUSTED supporter, Gertjan to the right, with a big smile on his face, as i approach the finish line. I share his excitement now, but rather jaded then.  Haha. I have him to thank for pushing me through these weeks of training to try for a PB in every race.  When i chicken out on trainings, his firm words “… u promised me at least 2 long runs – 30++ km…” brings me back to life. Because it is moments like above, when i cross the finish line, and with a PB in the pocket, that i gain strength and a sense of fulfilment.
