#throwback to years (in weekend warrior terms) of active road running, triathlon cycling, and triathlon swimming. Cycling and swimming were, by the by, activities that came about BECAUSE of my love for running.
I recalled a visit to the physiotherapist (PhT) at KLCC medical centre here in Kuala Lumpur (back in 2014), and complained that i may have developed an ITB injury (as a result of running). This was how the conversation went;
________________
PhT: … ahh common injury for runners…
Me: ah ok… umm, but i have a FM (42.195km running) in a month’s time, and it is important (to me)
PT: ohh, no, you need to stop running until this recovers. We will have 10 weekly sessions together…. (conversation fades away)
…. the moment i heard the word “Stop”… my brain switched off…
I disagreed that stopping was the ONLY solution. I believe in active recovery.
And that was how a triathlon journey started.
